Thailand and surrounding provinces are expected to experience more rain until the beginning of next month, according to the weather bureau.
The Meteorological Department reported on Wednesday that the high-pressure area or cold weather front over the South China Sea has produced a southeastern wind to bring moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the lower part of the country’s Northeast, East and the lower region of the central plain, as well as Bangkok and its vicinity.
As a result, rain has hit these areas and is expected to continue for some more time, the Meteorological Department said.
? It also forecast that more heavy rain can be expected on January 29 and 30 due to another relatively-strong high-pressure system from China that will likely move into the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea. Accordingly, rainstorms may continue until early February, added the Meteorological Department.
